Rajshahi: Home and Agriculture Adviser Lt Gen (retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury emphasized that youth is not merely a period of life but a prospect that can guide the young generation towards nation-building initiatives. He articulated this sentiment during the closing ceremony of the five-day Youth Festival 2025 held at the Satellite Town High School Playground.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Adviser Jahangir highlighted that youth represents a mentality, a vision, and an internal power that equips young individuals to perceive the world innovatively. He described the young generation as the driving force of society. The event was jointly organized by the district administration and the Department of Youth Development (DYD).
The festival featured 60 stalls showcasing various products from different entrepreneurs, creating a platform for youth engagement. Commissioner of Rajshahi division Khandaker Azim Ahmed and Deputy Commissioner Afiya Akhter were among the notable speakers at the event.
Adviser Jahangir stressed that youths aged 15 to 35 constitute one-third of the country’s population. He advocated for efforts to transform this demographic into a robust workforce for the overall development of the country. He noted that youths are the most energetic and reactive part of society, and gatherings like these can significantly inspire them toward nation-building.
The ceremony concluded with the Adviser awarding prizes to winners of various competitions held during the festival. The event ended on a cultural note with performances by local artists from ethnic minorities, showcasing the region’s rich cultural diversity.
