Kathmandu Technical School Begins Operations to Boost Skilled Workforce


Kathmandu: IME Group and IXI Corp have jointly established the Kathmandu Technical School (KTS) with the aim of producing skilled human resources for the job market. Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sharat Singh Bhandari, officially inaugurated the school during a program held at Dhumbarahi today.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Bhandari emphasized the government’s focus on partnering with the private sector to address the issues of unemployment and poverty through the integration of skills, employment, entrepreneurship, and capital. He stated that producing technical human resources is a governmental priority and expressed readiness to collaborate with the private sector in skill development initiatives.



Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chair of IME Group, highlighted that the operation of KTS marks a step forward for IME Group in generating technical human resources. Dhakal expressed confidence that the school would significantly contribute to making thousands of youths self-employed and anticipated a positive impact on employment, education, society, and the overall economy of Nepal.



Furthermore, Manoj Poudel, Chairperson of Kathmandu Technical School, stated that the institution would support the government’s goal of producing over 100,000 skilled individuals within the next decade. The school plans to offer training in fields such as hospitality, culinary arts, caregiving, and other employment-oriented and self-employment sectors.
