Dhaka: Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain today emphasized the necessity for Muslims to unite according to the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, urging them to set aside differences for the greater good. He made these remarks during a discussion on the significance of Sunnah in Muslim life held on Kaichabari Road in Ashulia.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Khalid highlighted the immense importance of Sunnah for Muslims, warning that deviation from it could lead to bid’ah, or innovations in religious matters. He stressed the foundational principles of Tawheed and Risalat in Islam, cautioning that shirk could undermine Tawheed and bid’ah could erode Sunnah. Khalid advised that Muslims should firmly adhere to both Tawheed and Sunnah without compromise.
Dr. Khalid asserted that there should be no compromise with shirk or bid’ah, urging everyone to remain vigilant. He pointed out the tendency of individuals to be narrow-minded, often unwilling to accommodate those with different opinions or paths.
The event also featured speeches by prominent figures including Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahed Abdullah Al-Arifi, Senior Advisor to the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Issa bin Youssef Al-Duhailan, and Religious Affairs Attach© of the Saudi Embassy in Dhaka Mubarak bin Amek Al Anaz. The discussion was presided over by Bangladesh Jamiat Ahle Hadith President Professor Dr. Abdullah Farooq.
Among those present were Hafiz of Pakistan’s Harakatul Quran Wassunnah Allama Shaykh Engineer Ibtisam Ilahi Zahir and leaders of Ahle Hadith, reflecting the diverse representation of Islamic scholarly thought at the event.
