Dhaka: Adviser for Industries and Housing and Public Works Adilur Rahman Khan emphasized the crucial role of youth and new beginnings in shaping the future of Bangladesh at the second convocation of the BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT). Addressing the graduates at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal, Khan underscored the importance of today’s graduates in inspiring the general populace and advancing the rights of working people in the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Adilur Rahman Khan, speaking as the chief guest on behalf of the Chancellor, expressed confidence that the graduates would significantly contribute to building a new Bangladesh. He paid tribute to the martyred students of the July uprising and BUFT student Shaheed Selim Talukder, reflecting on the transformative changes in the country since then. “After August 5, it is a new Bangladesh because of the youth,” Khan stated, urging the graduates to become guides for the nation’s progress.
Khan also expressed hope that the graduates would act as vanguards, further enhancing the country’s image on the global stage. The event was graced by Youngone Corporation Chairman Kihak Sung as the convocation speaker, and BUFT Board of Trustees Chairman Faruque Hassan and acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Engineer Ayub Nabi Khan also addressed the gathering.
During the convocation, a total of 2,731 students received their graduation degrees, and 328 were awarded post-graduation degrees, marking a significant milestone in their academic journey.
