Itahari: Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Kumar Karki, has announced ongoing efforts for the development of tourism infrastructures in the region. In a speech delivered during the inauguration of the three-day ‘Eastern Travel Mart’ in Apganchhi, Itahari city, CM Karki emphasized the critical role of tourism as a pillar of economic prosperity. The province government, he stated, has been giving considerable attention to enhancing tourism facilities and infrastructure.
According to National News Agency Nepal, CM Karki highlighted that economic prosperity and development are the government’s utmost priorities, with initiatives being forwarded in a planned manner. He also expressed the government’s readiness to collaborate with local levels to identify new tourist destinations and improve tourist arrivals in the province.
The travel mart, organized by the Nepal Tourism Board with financial support from the Koshi Province government and Itahari sub-metropolis, aims to boost tourism in the area. Mart organizing secretary Basudev Baral mentioned that the event would host foreign tourists from Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bhutan, and Bangladesh, who will be taken to various tourist spots across the province.
