Koshi Province to Cut Its 25% Budget for Reconstruction

Koshi province: The Koshi Province government has decided to cut its budget by 25 percent for the current fiscal year. A meeting of the council of ministers of the province government held on Monday decided to slash its budget by 25 percent for this fiscal year.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Internal Affairs and Law Minister of Koshi Province Rewati Raman Bhandari stated that the budget would not be implemented as initially decided by the cabinet meeting. Instead, it will be allocated for the reconstruction of physical properties damaged in the vandalism and arson incidents during the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9. Additionally, funds will also be directed towards the development of properties affected by recent rain-induced disasters.

The province government has also made administrative changes, transferring two secretaries to different ministries as part of this budget reallocation strategy.
