Landless Citizens to Receive Land Ownership Soon, Says Minister

Sindhulimadhi: Minister for Land Management, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation Balaram Adhikari has announced that the government is making efforts to provide land ownership documents to landless citizens shortly. This statement was made during a meeting with officials and members of the Land Related Problem Resolution Commission and cooperative campaigners in Sindhulimadhi.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Adhikari emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of landless Dalits, squatters, and unmanaged settlements. He called on the office-bearers and members of the Land Related Problem Resolution Commission in Sindhuli to accelerate the process of issuing land ownership documents to landless individuals.

Minister Adhikari also highlighted the government’s initiative to eliminate legal obstacles, noting that an ordinance has been introduced to address existing legal gaps. He encouraged commission members to dispel misconceptions about the commission’s purpose, clarifying that it is not intended to deforest or explore new locations, but rather to create a conducive environment for identifying safe sites.
