Lalitpur: President Ramchandra Paudel has emphasized the importance of linking education to knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurship. In his speech at the 70th anniversary celebration of St Mary’s Secondary School in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, President Paudel stated, “Education instills decency in citizens, making them competent and patriotic. For it to happen, linking education to knowledge and entrepreneurship is imperative.”
According to National News Agency Nepal, President Paudel highlighted that education connected to entrepreneurship significantly enhances productivity and economic activities. He emphasized that knowledge serves as a crucial tool for socioeconomic and cultural transformations. Education, he noted, propels accountability and national welfare.
The President also pointed out that political changes in the country have facilitated substantial development in education, health, communications and IT, road infrastructure, hydropower, and rural development. He explained that a democratic system ensures not only freedom but also development, trust, and progress.
President Paudel remarked, “Present system has envisioned the correction, review and optimum utilization of the opportunities. We must give up dissent, disappointment and grudges and continue aspiring for trust and progress.” He expressed his hope that the education system would prepare a competent, qualified, and industrial workforce in the country, urging policymakers, the government, and educational institutions to focus on this goal.
He concluded by stating that quality education enriches one’s life by instilling feelings of modesty, justice, propriety, humanity, love, and compassion.
