Kathmandu: The CPN (Maoist Centre) has proposed the dissolution of its central committee in favor of a special convention. The proposal includes forming a convention organizing committee under the leadership of the party Chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the decision emerged from a standing committee meeting held at the party headquarters, Parisdadanda, on Wednesday. Party Vice-Chairman and spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota stated that the move aims to maintain unity within the party amidst evolving national circumstances. A central committee meeting has been scheduled for Thursday to finalize the decision on this proposal.
The party expressed intentions to engage in dialogue and reach consensus with democratic and progressive forces, pursue unification with the socialist front, and initiate efforts to create a broader alliance. Sapkota emphasized the rapidly changing situation, highlighting the meeting’s conclusion on the necessity for transformative forces to drive progression.
