Kathmandu: More than 267,000 people have left Kathmandu Valley till Saturday from September 22.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office reported that a total of 267,441 individuals have departed the valley to return to their villages for the Dashain festival.
In detailing the exodus, the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office stated that 40,923 people left on September 22, followed by 39,814 on September 23. The number increased as 57,559 individuals departed on September 24 and 56,906 on September 25. The trend continued with more than 72,239 people leaving on September 26 and 27, according to Naresh Subedi, Spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.
Subedi further noted the rising number of departures, highlighting that 45,493 vehicles have exited the Kathmandu Valley since September 22. These vehicles have traveled through key checkpoints such as Thankot, Sanga, Dakshinkali, and Balaju.
