New Delhi: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, and Minister for Commerce and Industry of India, Piyush Goyal, held a meeting on matters of bilateral interest in New Delhi today. Minister Bhandari is now on a visit to India. During the meeting held at the Parliament Building, New Delhi, Minister Bhandari urged Minister Goyal to facilitate the ‘Bureau of Indian Standards’ imposed by the Indian government on the export of Nepali goods–cement, plywood and shoes.
According to National News Agency Nepal, positive discussions were held for the amendment to the Treaty of Transit, as stated by Under-Secretary at the Bilateral Trade and Transit Section of the Ministry, Tarka Raj Bhatta. The meeting also led to an understanding to organize a Commerce Secretary-level meeting in Nepal soon to facilitate trade and transit between the two nations.

portunities in Nepal, citing the country’s investment-friendly environment. This initiative aligns with Nepal’s strategic efforts to attract foreign investment and bolster economic growth.
