Jakarta:Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment Gita Chaudhary has released several reports from the Tharu Commission during a program organized by the Commission. The event was attended by Tharu leaders, activists, and experts.
According to National News Agency Nepal, The reports cover various issues concerning the Tharu community, including their folk arts, cuisines, a directive on the Tharu script, sickle cell anemia, and the status of freed-kamaiya and kamalaris. They also highlight the struggles and sacrifices made by the Tharu people in their fight for rights.
During the program, indigenous community leaders emphasized the importance of effectively implementing the recommendations provided in the reports. Minister Chaudhary also urged all stakeholders to offer their full support in addressing the Tharu community’s challenges.
