Tokyo: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has embarked on a journey to Japan to take part in an international conference focused on social isolation among senior citizens, commencing tomorrow in Tokyo. She departed for Japan last night.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the conference, themed ‘Addressing Social Isolation and Loneliness Among Older People,’ is organized by the Foundation for the Welfare and Education of the Asian People. It will see participation from ministers, senior government officials, and social activists representing over 12 countries.
Minister Rana is slated to represent Nepal at the conference, delivering a speech that highlights the country’s stance and initiatives on the issue. With a background in economic development and social protection for Nepali women, Dr. Rana has been invited as a special guest. Her contributions through organizations such as the Rural Women and Development Centre and the Safe Motherhood Network underscore her longstanding commitment to these causes.
During her visit to Japan, Dr. Rana is also expected to engage in significant bilateral meetings, further strengthening Nepal’s international relations. She is scheduled to return home next Saturday.
