Kathmandu: Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Mahabir Pun, has pledged that the Ministry will take appropriate actions to enforce the findings of the report prepared by the committee investigating the land belonging to Tribhuvan University (TU).
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Pun stated that some issues raised by the committee’s report would be referred to the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). The report revealed that the land owned by TU had been encroached upon by various entities and was being used illegally. Minister Pun emphasized that, based on the report’s findings and suggestions, the Ministry would write to the CIAA to take necessary action.
The Minister made these remarks during a press meet organized today, marking his first since assuming office. He noted that the committee’s report was incomplete and required further study and investigation. The government intends to conduct another investigation based on the current report to ensure thoroughness.
Minister Pun also mentioned that complaints were being received regarding the illegal grabbing of land owned by Sudurpaschim University, and that an investigation into these complaints would be initiated.
In addition, he announced that a computer subject with a full score of 100 marks would be introduced into the school education curriculum to keep the education system aligned with advancements in information technology.
