Mustang: A German tourist and his tour guide, who had gone missing in the Dhawalagiri Circuit trekking route, have been found. The Mustang District Police Office stated that the missing persons came into contact on Saturday night.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the missing German national, Damino Del Phaplo, 32, and guide Nepal’s Mima Sherpa, arrived at Gharapjhong Rural Municipality-3, Syang at 9 pm on Saturday, said Deputy Superintendent of Police of Mustang, Chhiring Kippa Lama. They had strayed from their trekking route at night and were expected to reach Marpha, but instead arrived at Syang through a forest. The Seven Summit Trekking Company, which organized their trek, had mobilized a helicopter on Saturday to search for them.
The two went missing during their trek from the base camp of Mt Dhawalagiri in Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-4 of Myagdi to Dhampus Peak in Thasang Rural Municipality-1 of Mustang. They had been out of contact since Friday night. The trekking route is a popular destination for tourists in the Myagdi and Mustang districts.
