Kathmandu: The government has called upon all rural municipalities and municipalities across the country to report on the damage inflicted by the Gen-Z protests and demonstrations that occurred on September 8 and 9.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA) has reached out to all 753 local levels nationwide, urging them to furnish details of the damage. The local levels have been instructed to upload the damage details in an online portal set up for this purpose.
Furthermore, the government has requested information regarding the reconstruction efforts being undertaken by each municipality. To address the aftermath of the protests, a five-member committee was established on September 21 to evaluate the damage to public property, physical structures, and private establishments and to devise a reconstruction plan.
To ensure consistency and streamline data collection, the committee has been tasked with developing an online portal. The local levels have been directed to use this portal to submit the necessary details.
