NBR Seeks Proposals for FY26 Budget Preparation from Stakeholders

Dhaka: The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has requested budget proposals from all stakeholders to develop a participatory, pro-people, and balanced budget for the upcoming fiscal year, FY26.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the NBR typically seeks budget proposals and engages in consultations with taxpayers across all levels, engaging various industrial and trade bodies, trade associations, professional organizations, research institutions, and the intellectual community. This approach is part of the NBR’s strategy to create a budget that reflects diverse perspectives and needs.

Continuing this tradition, the revenue board aims to design the next budget through extensive consultations, intending to make revenue generation operations for the upcoming fiscal year more meaningful, analytical, and representative. The NBR has called upon various chambers and associations to submit their budget proposals in writing to the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) by March 20, 20
25.

Additionally, the NBR has requested interested parties to send a softcopy of the proposal via email to [email protected], as stated in an NBR press release. The NBR assures that the received proposals will be given due consideration.

Moreover, companies that are not members of any chambers or associations are also encouraged to send their budget proposals to the NBR through the mentioned email address. The NBR expressed hope that through collective efforts, it would be possible to formulate a budget that is participatory, pro-people, and conducive to business and industry, while maximizing revenue potential for the fiscal year 2025-2026.
