NC Ready to Address Genuine Demands of Gen-Z People

Kathmandu: The central execution committee meeting of the Nepali Congress has concluded that NC was committed to addressing the genuine concerns raised by Gen-Z people. The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman of the party, Purna Bahadur Khadka, paid tribute to the youths, security personnel, and others who lost their lives in the protests on September 8 and 9. It also expressed deep reverence to those who sacrificed their lives for establishing the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal based on justice, equality, freedom, and pluralism. The families of the deceased were extended condolences.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the party wished a speedy recovery to the injured and demanded a fair investigation into the incidents that occurred during the Gen-Z protest. It also condemned the attack on party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and central member Dr. Arzu Rana, as well as the acts of vandalism, looting, and arson at the party office.

Severe concern was shown against the attack by criminal gangs on the foundational pillars of democracy, namely the office buildings of the executive, parliament, and judiciary. Equal concern was expressed over the significant loss of public and private property during the protests.

The party reiterated its stance that the dissolution of the House of Representatives was unconstitutional, as it went against the constitution and Supreme Court decisions. However, NC remains committed to finding a political solution to this crisis by staying within the constitutional framework, according to Krishna Prasad Paudel, Chief Secretary at the NC central office.

The NC plans to hold broader discussions with stakeholders, including political parties, civil society, and experts, to restore peace, democracy, progression, and prosperity. The aim is to protect the Federal Democratic Republic and the constitution, lifting the country out of the crisis.

All Nepali citizens, both within the country and abroad, are extended best wishes on the occasion of Constitution Day today. Various office bearers, including Dhanraj Gurung, Gagan Kumar Thapa, Bal Bahadur KC, Sujata Koirala, and Anand Prasad Dhungana, expressed their views during the meeting.
