NDRRMA Calls for Three-Day Suspension of Long-Distance Travel Amid Heavy Rainfall

Kathmandu: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has called for the suspension of long-distance vehicle operations to and from the Kathmandu Valley due to ongoing heavy rainfall. The authority has requested that transport services be halted for three days, from October 4 to 6.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the NDRRMA issued a public notice citing increased risks of landslides, flooding, and inundations as the reason for this precautionary measure. The continuous rains have raised concerns about the safety of travelers and the potential for natural disasters.

The NDRRMA has also urged District Administration Offices and security agencies to ensure strict monitoring and enforcement of the suspension. The authority emphasized the importance of cooperation from all relevant agencies and transport operators to minimize risks and ensure public safety during this period.
