Kathmandu: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has urged citizens to promptly report any disruptions in communication services to the ministry and respective service providers. This call to action is also extended to the provision of any emergency information related to such disruptions.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the ministry issued a press release outlining this request as heavy rainfall has impacted daily life across many parts of the country. The ministry stressed the importance of maintaining open lines of communication during these challenging times.
The ministry has provided contact numbers to facilitate reports of service disruptions. Citizens can reach out to 1498 for Telecom Company, 9005 for Ncell, 9851087432 and 9841376203 for Nepal Telecom Authority, and 9849053663 and 9841520115 for the ministry itself.
A meeting held on Saturday, attended by representatives from the Communication Ministry and affiliated bodies, concluded with a resolution to enhance efforts in providing accurate information to citizens during disasters. The meeting emphasized the need to prevent communication service disruptions during critical times.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there remains a possibility of heavy rainfall continuing for three more days. The meeting was presided over by the Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel.
