Guilin: Nepal-China Cultural and Tourism Promotion Programme is set to take place in Guilin in May, marking a significant step in fostering cultural ties and tourism collaboration between the two nations. The event is being organized through a joint effort by China-based Guilin Merchants International Travel Service, Guilin Tourism University, and Guilin English Corner School.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Company Chairman Satya Lama Tamang stated that the event will see participation from a wide array of Nepali representatives, including artists, tourism entrepreneurs, traders, and government officials. Scheduled for Baishakh 28 (May 10, 2025), this bilateral cultural exchange aims to strengthen relations and boost cooperation in the tourism sector.
“We are confident that this will further strengthen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation in the tourism sector,” Tamang expressed. The Managing Director of the company, Phurba Gyalbo Moktan, emphasized that the event will promote Nepal’s tourism alongside showcasing traditional songs and dances from both Nepal and China. Furthermore, awards will be presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to Nepal’s culture and tourism sector.
In addition, ‘Choreographer’ Kamal Rai highlighted that a series of cultural programs will be organized in Guilin, featuring the diverse costumes and traditions of various Nepali communities such as the Rai, Limbu, Gurung, and Tharu, spanning from Mechi in the east to Mahakali in the west.
