Nepal Firmly Condemns Terrorism, Affirms Solidarity with India


Kathmandu: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has reiterated Nepal’s unwavering stance against terrorism, condemning it in all its forms. Addressing a gathering organized by the Indian Embassy in Nepal, the minister paid tribute to the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, India, emphasizing Nepal’s commitment to peace and its strong opposition to terrorism.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Dr. Rana Deuba stressed Nepal’s consistent policy against adopting double standards in combating terrorism. She assured that Nepal is resolute in ensuring that its territory will not be used by terrorist groups for any purpose against any country or its people. Condemning the Pahalgam attack in the strongest terms, she expressed solidarity with India during this time of grief.



Dr. Rana Deuba highlighted the profound ties between Nepal and India, rooted in a shared history, culture, and longstanding cooperation. She noted that the open borders between the two nations symbolize mutual trust and familial bonds, recalling how India was quick to offer support during the devastating earthquake in Nepal.



The foreign minister extended her gratitude to the Government of India for facilitating the repatriation of the mortal remains of Sudip Neupane, a Nepali victim of the Pahalgam attack, along with other affected individuals. In closing, Dr. Rana Deuba paid homage to the Pahalgam attack victims and offered condolences to the bereaved families.
