Nepal Inclusive Education Summit Convening on December 15 in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: The first Nepal Inclusive Education Summit 2025 is scheduled to take place on December 15 in Kathmandu. The Summit, organized by Inclusive Education Nepal in collaboration with various government and non-government bodies, aims to unite all relevant stakeholders in a national movement for inclusive and equitable education, both inside and outside the classroom.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the event will bring together representatives from the Ministry of Education, local governments, universities, teachers’ associations, organizations of persons with disabilities, parent and community networks, as well as private sector institutions. The gathering aims to jointly identify the barriers that hinder the implementation of inclusive education in Nepal and to develop strategies to address them.

Ram Tiwari, Director of Inclusive Education Nepal, stated that the Summit marks ‘an important milestone in Nepal’s education sector, as all stakeholders collectively work to translate the country’s policy commitments into real practices through a nationwide movement for meaningful change.’ Tiwari emphasized that sustainable change is only possible when government and non-government sectors work hand in hand towards that goal.

The Summit’s conclusions are expected to contribute to the development of a national roadmap to strengthen inclusive education across Nepal, it is said.
