New delhi: An understanding has been reached between the Armed Police Force, Nepal, and the Seema Surakshya Bal (Border Security Force), India, to forward necessary coordination and collaboration to make joint border patrol and border security more effective.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the agreement was formed during the 9th bilateral coordination meeting, where discussions centered on controlling cross-border crimes and drug smuggling. The Nepali delegation was led by APF Inspector General Raju Aryal, while Director General Sanjay Singhal headed the Indian delegation for the SSB.
The three-day meeting took place in New Delhi, India, from November 12 to 14. It also addressed issues such as controlling smuggling and illegal import in border areas, and the exchange of information and training, as stated by Superintendent of Police Shailendra Thapa, Joint-Spokesperson at the APF, Nepal.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed the implementation of the agenda passed during the 8th coordination meeting held last December in Kathmandu. Discussions focused on effectively implementing shared concepts and strategizing for future efforts in border security.
