Kathmandu: A retired Joint Secretary of the Office of Nepal Trust, Durbar Marg, Kathmandu, has been arrested on charges of fraud and criminal breach of trust. He has been identified as Lekh Bahadur Karki (66), a resident of Bharatpur metropolis-15, Chitwan.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) found that Karki had leased land owned by the Nepal Trust in Kathmandu with malicious intent, causing harm to the Trust. Senior Superintendent of Police Shiva Kumar Shrestha of the CIB confirmed Karki’s arrest.
The lease agreement was signed on May 28, 2027 BS. Karki is currently under investigation in connection with the same case.
