Nepali Squad Heads to India for South Asian Senior Athletics Championship


Kathmandu: A 30-member Nepali squad comprising 26 athletes is departing for Ranchi, India, on Wednesday to compete in the South Asian Senior Athletics Championship scheduled for October 24-26. The team includes athletes such as Mukesh Pal, Rajan Rokaya, Som Kumal, Salin Dewan, and Santoshi Shrestha, among others.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the championship will also see participation from athletes like Purna Laxmi Neupane, Sushil KC, Shiva Raj Parki, Arun Mahato, and several others, including Ran Chandra Tharu, Tilak BK, and Yubraj BK. Coaches Rakesh Bajracharya and Dhaniram Chaudhary, along with team manager Dipendra Kumar Goiet and official Anirudra Chaudhary, will accompany the athletes.



The team was given a formal farewell at a program organized on Monday, where Tanka Lal Ghising, Member-Secretary at the National Sports Council, extended his best wishes for their success in the championship.
