NIA’s Directive to Facilitate Insurance Claims


Kathmandu: The Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA) has instructed insurance companies to promptly and easily settle insurance claims arising from the difficult situation that emerged since September 8. Director Kundan Sapkota stated that this directive is in response to the adverse circumstances and irreparable damage that have affected both public and private sectors, causing significant hardship to the insured.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the NIA has urged life insurance companies to facilitate the insurance claims considering the damage to the assets of the insured and their difficulties. The Authority has emphasized the importance of addressing these claims efficiently to aid those impacted.



The Authority has also requested insurance companies to provide details of insurance claims for damages caused by the adverse situation on a weekly basis. There has been significant loss of life and property due to the demonstrations and vandalism on the 8th and 9th of this month.
