No Excuse to Postpone 10th National Games, Asserts Minister


Birendranagar: Minister for Youth and Sports Tejulal Chaudhary has declared that there is no longer any justification to delay the 10th National Games, scheduled to be held in Karnali.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Chaudhary, while inaugurating the Secretariat of the 10th National Games-2082 Main Organizing Committee in Birendranagar, Surkhet, assured that the sports competition would proceed as planned from May 17 to 24. He emphasized that there should be no uncertainty regarding the event and announced that letters would be sent to ministers and relevant officials across all seven provinces to confirm the scheduled dates.



The Minister highlighted the urgency of appointing a member-secretariat for Karnali Province to facilitate the necessary arrangements. He expressed gratitude towards the former and current Chief Ministers of Karnali Province for their roles in completing the Karnali Province Stadium, a national pride project, on time. Additionally, he urged journalists to avoid publishing news that could incite doubt about the upcoming games.



Similarly, Karnali Province’s Chief Minister, Yamlal Kandel, expressed confidence in the timely execution of the competition and urged smooth preparatory work by the organizers. He reiterated the provincial government’s readiness to collaborate with organizers to ensure the event’s success.



Furthermore, Birendranagar Municipality Mayor, Mohan Maya Dhakal, welcomed the national-level sports competition, viewing it as a significant event for the people of Karnali.
