Kirtipur: Sudurpaschim Royals have posted 140 runs for Karnali Yaks to win in the match currently underway at TU International Cricket Ground, as part of the Nepal Premier League 2025.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Sudurpaschim struggled to score in a bowling-friendly pitch with four down batsman and Captain Dipendra Singh Airee becoming the highest scorer with 38 runs in 28 balls. Aarif Sheikh scored 27 runs while Harmit Singh contributed 19 runs to the total. Sudurpaschim scored 139 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in the full quota of 20 overs.
For the bowling side, Captain Sompal Kami took 3 wickets for 32 runs in 4 overs while Nandan Yadav took 2 wickets giving away only 11 runs in 3 overs. Mark Watt, Bipin Sharma and Yubaraj Khatri took 1 wicket each.
This is the third match for Sudurpaschim, who stands second in the points table with two wins in equal number of matches. Karnali Yaks have 2 points after a win in two matches, and remain in the sixth position in the second edition of the NPL 2025, a franchise-based tournament hosted by Cricket Association of Nepal.
Earlier, in the first match of the day held in the same venue and pitch, Biratnagar Kings defended 135 runs to defeat Janakpur Bolts by 9 runs.
