NPL: Sudurpaschim Royals Defeats Biratnagar Kings by 90 Runs.


Kirtipur: Sudurpaschim Royals has started their journey on an encouraging note by defeating Biratnagar Kings in their first match under the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket tournament. Sudurpaschim Royals thrashed Biratnagar Kings by 90 runs in today’s match held at Kirtipur-based TU Cricket Ground.

According to National News Agency Nepal, this is the second consecutive loss of Biratnagar Kings in the tournament. For Biratnagar, Bashir Ahmed scored 24 runs in 28 balls while Rajesh Pulami Magar made 15 runs in nine balls, Anil Kharel 10 runs, Chris Sole nine runs, Captain Sandeep Lamichhane eight runs, Ismat Alam six runs and Nicholas Kirton five runs.

Towards bowling, Sudurpaschim Royals’ Abinash Bohara and Scott Kuggeleijn took three wickets each while Brandon McMullen and Saif Zaib took one wicket each. Earlier, Sudurpaschim Royals made 182 runs in 20 overs losing seven wickets. Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Captain Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 57 runs in 24 balls (not out) while Brand
on McMullen scored 36 runs in 26 balls and Binod Bhandari added 23 runs in 20 balls.

Ishan Pandey gathered 21 runs, Aarif Sheikh scored nine runs and Saif Zaib scored 14 runs. For Biratnagar Kings, Anil Kharel took three wickets while Ismat Alam, Basir Ahmed, and Chris Sole took one wicket each. Likewise, Chitwan Rhinos and Pokhara Adventures are playing against each other in the second match today under the tournament.
