Gaibandha: A daylong Nutrition Awareness and Learning Fair-2025 was held on the premises of Fulchhari Upazila Parishad today, attracting significant interest from the community.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fair was organized by SKS Foundation, a voluntary organization in the district, in cooperation with Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF). The event was part of the Rural Microenterprise Transformation Project (RMTP), funded by the Embassy of Denmark.
The fair commenced with an inaugural ceremony chaired by Khokon Kumar Kundu, Director (Finance) of the foundation. The event was graced by UNO Jagatbandhu Mondal as the chief guest. Other notable speakers included upazila livestock officer Dr. Jahirul Islam, upazila agriculture officer Mintu Miah, upazila fisheries officer Akhi Sarker, upazila social services officer Monowar Hossain, and coordinator (Field operation) of SKS Foundation Baharam Khan.
Manager of RMTP-Fish project, Kopil Kumar Paul, elaborated on the objectives and necessity of the fair, emphasizing the importance of nutrition awareness. In his address, UNO Jagatbandhu Mondal highlighted the crucial role of nutrition awareness, particularly among housewives, in building a healthy nation. He expressed gratitude to the organizers for their efforts in promoting nutritional awareness.
Following the inauguration, attendees, including the chief guest, visited various stalls, engaging with stall owners to discuss nutrition. The fair drew a considerable number of housewives from the project command area, along with officials and activists, creating a vibrant atmosphere dedicated to nutritional education and awareness.
