Kathmandu: CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli has argued that an atmosphere conducive to the election announced for March 5, 2025, will not be created in the absence of dialogue among political parties. Speaking at a reception held in Chyasal-based party’s central office today, the former Prime Minister highlighted the challenges posed by security concerns, including the looting of 1,200 arms and over 100,000 bullets, as reported by police, along with the issue of over 5,500 prisoners who escaped during the recent Gen Z demonstrations and have not yet returned.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Oli acknowledged the demands of the Gen Z movement, which calls for an end to corruption and the promotion of good governance. However, he emphasized that unlawful activities carried out under the guise of the movement should not be supported. Oli further asserted that the election should not be held in an atmosphere of fear, underlining the need for political dialogue to ensure a peaceful and supportive environment for the upcoming election.
