Baitadi: A landslide coupled with heavy rain occurred at Chaupata of Sunarya Rural Municipality-2 in Baitadi district, burying a house on Sunday afternoon. A two-storied house belonging to Girish Chand was damaged by the landslide, as reported by Police Inspector Balaram Pandey.
According to National News Agency Nepal, 90-year-old Godawari Chand was critically injured in the incident. Buried inside the house after the landslide, the nonagenarian was rushed to the district hospital. The doctors subsequently referred her to Dadeldhura Hospital for further treatment.
In addition, 13 animals including cows and goats were killed in the landslide, adding to the devastation caused by the natural disaster.
