Satkhira: A man was killed and 12 others were injured in a road accident at Circuit House crossing in the district town here early this morning. The deceased was identified as Sahadat Hossain, son of Safikul Islam, a resident of Itna upazila in Kishoreganj district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred around 4:30 am when a bus collided with a roadside tree. The bus driver reportedly lost control of the steering due to dense fog, resulting in injuries to the bus helper and 12 passengers, as stated by Saminul Haque, Officer-in-Charge of Satkhira Sadar Police Station.
The injured individuals were transported to various hospitals for medical attention. Critically injured bus helper Sahadat succumbed to his injuries on the way to Dhaka this noon.
