Kathmandu: Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Balram Adhikari, announced that the ordinance issued by the government concerning land will be tabled in parliament when deemed appropriate. He made this statement during an interaction with media personnel.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Adhikari elaborated that while some ordinances have already received parliamentary endorsement, the remaining ordinance will be presented when the timing aligns with the government’s strategy. He highlighted that even after the 60-day period post-issuance of an ordinance, the government has measures in place to ensure their passage when there is a majority of ruling parties in the National Assembly.
Minister Adhikari emphasized that the government’s activities can be viewed from a positive perspective, especially regarding efforts to address issues like poverty and landlessness. He mentioned that a new law is currently being drafted to address cooperative-related challenges, underscoring the government’s commitment to regulating the cooperative sector effectively.
In addition, Minister Adhikari touched upon the need to revise the provisions related to the incentives offered to dignitaries, suggesting that changes are necessary to align with current government policies and objectives.
