Over 14,000 youths both male and female of Narsingdi district have become self-reliant receiving training and loan from BSCIC Skill development center since the programme began in the district.
Assistant General Manager (in-charge) of BSCIC Industries Service Center Mahamudul Hasan told BSS that the BSCIC Skill development center during the last 42 years imparted institutional training to about 15,000 youths on different trades in the district.
The training courses include fitting-cum-machine shop practices and welding, electrical house wiring and motor welding, repairing of electrical goods, cutting and sewing training course, block-boutique, refrigeration and air-condition repairing, mobile phone repairing and computer course.
Hasan said BSCIC also provided easy-term loans to the trained youths (revolving fund).
He also said over 13,500 youths in the six upazilas of the district are now happy taking on different projects and serving at the home and abroad for the massive role of the skill development center of BSCIC.
