Kathmandu: A greater peace rally has been organized on the occasion of Constitution Day this morning. The peace rally commenced from Maitighar and made its way back to Maitighar via Bhadrakali and Shahid Gate, culminating in a corner meet.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the event was organized by the Professional Alliance for Peace and Democracy (PAPAD) and saw wide participation from citizens affiliated with various professions. Participants included constitutional experts, journalists, lawyers, human rights activists, teachers, and intellectuals.
During the rally, participants carried placards with messages such as ‘Let us protect the constitution’, ‘Let us establish good governance’, and ‘Let us keep peace’. This day marks the commemoration of the promulgation of the Nepal Constitution on 3rd Asoj 2072 BS.
Participants highlighted the need to amend and reform the Constitution to address recent adverse circumstances in the country.
