Kathmandu: Weather conditions are expected to undergo significant changes today, particularly in the Koshi province, due to the influence of monsoon and other localized winds. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has indicated potential heavy rainfall in certain areas.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the western and central regions of the country are currently experiencing the impact of Westerly and local winds. Meanwhile, the Koshi province is predominantly under the influence of monsoon winds. This afternoon, the weather is predicted to be partly to generally cloudy nationwide, with chances of light to moderate rain, thunder, and lightning in various provinces, including Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim. Some isolated places in the remaining provinces might also experience similar weather patterns.
There is a distinct possibility of heavy rainfall in select areas within the Koshi Province. Additionally, light rainfall and snowfall might occur in the high hilly and mountainous regions. As for tonight, cloudy weather is expected across the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, while the rest of the country might experience fair weather conditions.
Moreover, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is anticipated in several areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, along with some hilly regions in the remaining provinces. The likelihood of heavy rainfall remains in one or two places within Koshi and Madhes provinces, with potential light rain and snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces during the night.
