Ramganj: Adviser to the Interim Government Mahfuz Alam has announced that power will be transitioned through a democratic process following the completion of key reforms. He made this statement during a reception at the Ramganj Upazila Government College ground.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mahfuz Alam dismissed any chance of military rule in the nation, asserting that there is no need to be subservient to others. He highlighted the independent removal of Hasina from power, which was achieved with the support of students and the public. He emphasized the importance of standing firm and encouraged all pro-Bangladeshi political parties to back the government in implementing essential reforms.
Alam further stated that the goal is not merely to dismantle the previous regime but to hold accountable those involved in what he described as the fascism of the Awami League across various sectors, including administration, education, and culture. He expressed a commitment to achieving the aspirations of the martyrs by ensuring justice is served.
He reiterated the intention to carry out all necessary reforms in collaboration with political parties, aiming for consensus. Principal of the college, Prof. Didarul Islam, presided over the event, which concluded with Alam engaging in discussions with government officials at the Upazila auditorium.
