Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ emphasized that the republic was the result of a collaborative struggle by progressive political parties and the people. He made these remarks while inaugurating the 3rd National Conference of the Young Communist League (YCL) in Kathmandu on Sunday.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Prachanda stated that the republican system is a public asset owned collectively by all progressive parties and citizens. He criticized the royalists for attempting to claim that the Maoist Centre solely owned the republican system, labeling such attempts as incorrect.
Prachanda asserted, “Republic is a common achievement of all. The Maoist Centre has the leadership to safeguard its institutional and ideological aspects.” He warned against the royalists’ narrative that suggests the republican system was established only by the Maoists, arguing that this narrative aims to undermine republican forces and should be strongly opposed.
While acknowledging the significant role of the Maoist’s People’s War in establishing the republican system, Prachanda pointed out that this system was achieved through the cooperation of various political parties and the populace.
YCL’s In-Charge Ram Prasad Sapkota ‘Deepshikha’ and other leaders also addressed the event, urging the youth to be at the forefront in protecting the republican system.
