Preparation Underway for Resumption of Services in Gandaki Province


Pokhara: Preparation is underway to resume service delivery from Sunday in Gandaki Province following the Gen-Z protests. Preliminary details of loss and damage caused to the ministries, commissions, government offices, and quarters have been collected.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Spokesperson of Gandaki Province Government and Minister for Economic Affairs, Dr. Tak Raj Gurung, stated that all ministries except the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport Management, Health Ministry, and Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives were vandalized and torched during the protests.



A team, including the Chief Minister, inspected all the damaged structures and gathered preliminary loss details. The Physical Infrastructure Development Ministry has been tasked with collecting the actual details of the structures that require reconstruction and repair by Thursday.



Dr. Gurung added that forty-three four-wheelers and 102 two-wheelers belonging to the ministries and its subordinate agencies were torched, resulting in significant physical loss. He further mentioned that preparations were underway to operate regular services from the ministries and offices starting Sunday.



It is expected to take some time to provide full-fledged services as cleaning, painting, repair, and maintenance of the damaged office buildings are ongoing.
