President Paudel Stresses on Equal Access to Health Services


Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel has emphasized the importance of ensuring equal access to health services for all citizens and enhancing the quality of these services. Addressing a programme organized by the Nepal Medical Association, President Paudel highlighted the nation’s commitment, as outlined in the constitution, to invest in the production of skilled and specialist doctors.



According to National News Agency Nepal, President Paudel urged doctors to view their profession as a service, aligning with the constitutional aspirations and sentiments. He clarified that the federal democratic republic constitution, achieved through the struggle and sacrifice of the Nepali people, guarantees basic rights to health and education.



The President noted that residents in remote areas still face challenges in accessing adequate health services, underscoring the necessity of deploying skilled doctors to address this issue. He appealed for contributions toward the overall development of the health sector, expressing that the production of skilled and specialist doctors in the country is a matter of collective happiness.



President Paudel expressed confidence that the Nepal Medical Association’s role would become more effective in driving significant improvements in the health sector and ensuring quality health services in the future. During the event, he honored Dr. Gauri Shankar Lal Das, Dr. Mrigendra Raj Pandey, Dr. Dinesh Nath Gangol, Dr. DB Karki, and Dr. Saraswoti Padhya with the ‘Legend in Medicine’ award.
