President to leave hospital tomorrow

SINGAPORE, President Mohammed Shahabuddin, now

undergoing treatment at Singapore National University Hospital, will leave

the hospital for the hotel of residence tomorrow as his health condition has

improved considerably.

“President’s health condition has improved significantly . . . He is

expected to leave hospital for the palace of residence (hotel) tomorrow,”

President’s Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin quoted the physicians as saying.

The Head of State is walking inside the cabin on a limited scale . . .

Besides, the doctors advised him to do light exercises,” Bangabhaban’s

spokesman added.

On October 18, the President’s bypass surgery was successfully completed at

the National University Hospital of Singapore under the supervision of

Professor Dr. Kofidis Theodoros, a distinguished cardiac surgeon.

A day after the surgery, he was kept under the intensive care of doctors in

the intensive care unit (ICU). Later he was shifted to the cabin.

The President was admitted to the hospital after the necessary check-up on

Monday last.

Earlier, on October 16, President Shahabuddin left Dhaka for Singapore for

better treatment.

President’s wife Dr. Rebecca Sultana and secretaries concerned are also

accompanying the President.

Meanwhile, the Saudi government and people wished for the speedy recovery of

President Mohammed Shahabuddin.

In a message sent to the President, the Saudi government and its people,

wished for a speedy recovery of President Shahabuddin.
