Prime Minister Oli Embarks on Four-Day Official Visit to China.


Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has departed for Beijing for a four-day official visit to the People’s Republic of China. The visit comes at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang, marking a significant step in fostering diplomatic relations between the two neighboring countries.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Prime Minister Oli was given a warm send-off by Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakash Man Singh, alongside Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, at the VVIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport. In addition, the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, other high-ranking officials of the Government of Nepal, and chiefs of security agencies were present to see him off.

Before his departure, Prime Minister Oli was honored with a guard of honor by a unit of the Nepali Army. During his stay in Beijing, he is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, where discussions are expected to revolve around various issues of bilateral
interest. He will also hold talks with his Chinese counterpart, Premier Li Qiang, and meet China’s National People’s Congress Standing Committee Chairman Zhao Leji.

The visit also includes Prime Minister Oli addressing a program at Peking University and participating in the Nepal-China Business Forum. This forum is jointly organized by the Nepali Embassy in Beijing, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Nepal Federation of Commerce and Industry.

The Nepali delegation accompanying Prime Minister Oli includes his spouse Radhika Shakya, Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Prime Minister’s Chief Adviser Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Adviser Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada, Members of Parliament, high-ranking government officials, private sector representatives, and media persons. Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to return to Nepal on December 5.
