Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended best wishes on the occasion of the 2624th birth anniversary of Tirthankar Mahavir and wished happiness, peace, and prosperity to all.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the 2624th birth anniversary of Mahavir is being celebrated as Non-Violence Day with the participation of various organisations under the aegis of Nepal Jain Parishad. Expressing happiness on this occasion, Prime Minister Oli reiterated his best wishes for happiness, peace, and prosperity to all.
Stating that Jain philosophy is one of the ancient philosophies, Prime Minister Oli emphasized that the philosophy based on human values should liberate individuals from the cycle of birth and death. He noted that through spiritual experience, humans can achieve an independent personality or wholeness.
On the occasion, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak also extended his heartiest greetings and best wishes to the entire Jain community on the birth anniversary of Mahavir Swami. He highlighted that Mahavir had imparted high moral ideals such as non-violence and truth to mankind.
