Prime Minister Oli to Present Key Bills in Federal Parliament Meetings


Kathmandu: The House of Representatives (HoR) and National Assembly (NA) of the federal parliament are convening their respective meetings today. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will put forward a proposal in the HoR meeting set for 11:00 am to deliberate on the Constitutional Council (First Amendment) Bill, 2079 BS, which originated in the National Assembly, alongside the report from the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee.



According to National News Agency Nepal, PM Oli will seek the HoR’s endorsement for the Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Powers and Procedures) (First Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS. The bill will be tabled with the National Assembly’s message regarding the Banking Offences and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS.



In the National Assembly meeting, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajaya Kumar Chaurasiya will propose consideration of the Nepal Council of Legal Practitioners (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS. Additionally, PM Oli is scheduled to present the annual report of the Muslim Commission for the fiscal year 2080/81 BS in the National Assembly meeting at 1:15 pm today.



Ministers will address questions related to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, and Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. Furthermore, the President of the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee, Kamala Panta, will propose a discussion on the ‘Report on the need for Legal System regarding the Rights and Development of the Dalit Community, 2081 BS’.
