BHARATPUR: Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ has called for increased involvement of industrialists and entrepreneurs in fostering a self-reliant national economy. Speaking at the third annual general assembly of the Federation of Nepalese Industry and Trade in Bharatpur, Chitwan, Dahal emphasized the importance of uplifting the middle class as a means to strengthen the country’s economic framework.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Dahal highlighted the current dependency on imported goods, including food items, which Nepal once exported. He underscored the necessity of collective efforts to bolster the economy under these circumstances. Dahal reflected on his tenure as Prime Minister, noting that his administration prioritized good governance, social justice, and economic prosperity.
Dahal further stated that encouraging the private sector is crucial for building a self-reliant national economy. His remarks resonated with the ongoing discussions about reducing
import dependencies and enhancing local production capabilities to ensure sustainable economic growth.
