Rabi Lamichhane Taken to Kathmandu for Legal Proceedings.

Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair and former Deputy Prime Minister Rabi Lamichhane has been transported to Kathmandu from Pokhara. This move took place this evening as Lamichhane was flown to the capital city on a Buddha Air flight.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Kaski, Basanta Sharma, stated that Lamichhane’s transfer to Kathmandu was necessitated by an arrest warrant issued by the Kathmandu District Court. The warrant was issued on charges related to the embezzlement of funds from Swarnalaxmi Financial Cooperatives.

Investigations concerning Lamichhane’s involvement in alleged financial misconduct are ongoing in Pokhara. These include accusations regarding the misappropriation of funds from the Pokhara-based Suryadarshan Savings and Credit Cooperatives Ltd., as well as organized crime. Lamichhane has been under police custody since October 18 as part of these inquiries.

Prior to his transfer to Kathmandu, Lamichhane was also taken to Rup
andehi before being brought to Pokhara for further investigations.
