Rasuwa: The district in the north-central part of Bagamati Province has been reconnected to the road network. The road to Rasuwa district, which was disrupted by the catastrophic Bhotekoshi flash flood, has been restored via the Bogatitar-Kalikasthan-Dhunche route.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the route operates through Kathmandu-Tokha-Chhahare-Gadkhar Bridge-APPRA-Narja-Lachyang-Sarmathali-Patikharka. Rasuwa district had lost its connectivity with the national road network following the August 26 devastating flash flood.
The damaged roadways have been repaired, and other obstacles cleared, making it feasible for the operation of light four-wheelers. The Road Department stated that efforts are underway to further enhance the capacity of the roadways. The resumption of vehicular movement is expected to facilitate the transportation of essential goods and accelerate rescue and relief operations in the district.
The government has prioritized efforts to restore the damaged road structures while taking necessary precautions in vulnerable and high-risk areas. The Department warned that although vehicular movement to Rasuwa has resumed, risks remain in several sections. It has urged traffic operators to exercise caution and adopt necessary safety measures while traveling through the affected areas.
