Birgunj: The Birgunj Customs Office successfully amassed Rs 18.39 billion in revenue during the inaugural month of the fiscal year 2082/83 (2025/26). Effective from Saun 1 (July 17), the Birgunj Customs Office and the Dry Port Customs Office were unified to offer integrated services, resulting in the latest revenue collections under this consolidated system.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the collected sum represents 87.68 percent of the designated monthly target. The revenue goal for Saun (mid-July to mid-August) was fixed at Rs 20.98 billion. During the equivalent period in the last fiscal year (2081/82), the Office collected Rs 15.92 billion, as stated by Customs Chief Administrator Deepak Lamichhane.
The Department of Customs has outlined an annual revenue objective of Rs 273.39 billion for the current fiscal year.
